SEASON CLOSING SHREDDER CAMP
The whole season we work on technique. Edge angles, timing, pressure, the perfect turn on the perfect piste. This week we use it.
The Season Closing Shredder Camp takes everything off the groomer. Every morning starts with a few focused drills on the piste — then we take that exact movement straight into natural bumps, steeper pitches and off-piste terrain. No perfect corduroy. No easy answers. The mountain decides what the turn has to do, and your technique has to deliver.
Late April on the Kitzsteinhorn is made for it. Firm, fast pistes first thing. Soft spring snow by late morning. Natural moguls, wind lips, open faces and corn snow off the piste when the conditions are right. The quietest, most relaxed week of the season, on a mountain that belongs to the people who really want to ski.
Five days. The whole mountain. The best way to end a season.
Why the end of April on the Kitzsteinhorn
At 3,000 metres the glacier holds its winter snow when the valleys are already green. That gives us both seasons on one mountain — firm pistes for the drills in the morning, softening spring snow for the bumps and the off-piste later in the day.
Spring snow is the best terrain teacher there is. It forgives enough to let you commit, and it is honest enough to show you exactly where the technique still breaks. This is where skiers who have trained all season find out what they can really do.
The Technical Focus
Drill it on the piste. Ski it on the mountain. Every day.
What we build across five days:
Morning drills — the movement first
Short, focused exercises on firm pistes. Balance, edge control, absorption and timing — the building blocks every turn off the piste depends on.
Natural bumps
No prepared line. Real moguls in real shapes. Reading the terrain, choosing the line and keeping speed under control when every bump is different.
Steeps and variable snow
Steeper pitches, changing snow, wind-affected surfaces. Short turns with commitment, a quiet upper body and the confidence to keep the rhythm going.
Off-piste terrain
Conditions permitting, open faces and spring snow off the piste within reach of the lifts. Adapting the turn to the snow instead of fighting it.
Free skiing, coached
The final day we ski the whole mountain the way you want to ski it — with the coaching running on the radio in your ear. The last runs of the season, skied properly.
The Programme
On snow daily:
- Morning coaching session — 09:00 to 11:45 — drills, then terrain
- Afternoon coaching session — 13:00 to 15:30 — bumps, steeps and off-piste
- Real-time radio coaching throughout every run (Cardo system)
- Individual video analysis every afternoon
Lunch: On the glacier, outside, in the sun.
Safety Off the Piste
Off-piste terrain is only skied when the snow and avalanche conditions allow it, and always within reach of the lifts. Avalanche safety equipment is required for every participant: transceiver, shovel and probe. If you do not own a set, rental can be arranged in Kaprun.
Where We Stay
🏠 Your choice — Kaprun
Accommodation is free of choice and booked independently. Any hotel, guesthouse or apartment in Kaprun works well as a base, a short drive from the glacier. Evenings are your own — half board or a restaurant in town both work well. Book only after the camp is officially confirmed. I am happy to recommend places on request.

Why This Camp. Why Me.
I hold the Austrian Staatlicher Level 4 and the Hungarian Level 4 — the highest coaching certifications in both systems. My qualifications have been formally recognised and converted by the Italian Maestro di Sci programme, IASI Ireland at Level 4 and PSIA USA at Level 3. Five national systems. One standard.
I have represented Austria and Hungary at three Interski Congresses — Cran-Montana 2003, St. Anton am Arlberg 2011, Pamporovo 2019 — and two IVSI Congresses in Lech-Zürs and Hakuba Japan, as a member of the Austrian Telemark Demo Team and the Interski Delegation. As a former examiner and coach at Snowsports Academy Austria I have assessed and certified ski instructors at the highest levels of the Austrian system.
Technique only matters if it works on the real mountain. This camp is where it has to.
7 Places.
This is the last camp of my season in Austria. The week after the Signature Technical Camp, and the most free and fun week of the year.
When the spots are gone, registration closes.
The last week. The whole mountain. Seven skiers. One coach.
